Health starts at home.
Creating a clean environment is critical for addressing mold toxicity. The very first step down your road to recovery from CIRS is removing yourself from the moldy environment. Sometimes, it even requires parting with personal belongings. It's not easy, but it's absolutely the most important thing you can do.
Trying to understand your living and working environment while making smart decisions can be frustrating without knowing all the facts. I can help you:
- Perform appropriate mold testing
- Understand your mold test results
- Identify what items are safe to keep and which ones need to be replaced
- Find effective cleaning techniques and products for mold and mycotoxins
- Finding a new home if you need to relocate temporarily or permanently
- Communicate your needs to landlords, property managers, supervisors, and/or loved ones
- Other services that help you navigate the journey.
Is your indoor environment safe?
Mold toxicity is a result of mold exposure in a water-damaged building. Not all molds are bad, but certain molds are very toxic. Molds that produce mycotoxins are very threatening to the health of sensitive individuals, so it is critical to know where the source of mold is coming from. Identifying where the mold is coming from and removing it from your environment is the only way your body can fully heal. It could be the home - and that's often the case - but it could also be at a work space or even a car that's triggering CIRS.
I find that many people I work with have a strong intuition about their environment. Their gut instinct is strong and they are usually right. These people are typically well aware of their surroundings and how their environment makes them feel. I think it is very important to trust that instinct, but it is also important to verify that with a test.
There are a variety of tests available, but knowing which one to perform is important. Interpreting the results can also be challenging. I help my clients choose the right test for their environment(s) and help them understand what the results mean.

You don't have to live in a tent!
During my mold experience, I had given up trying to sleep in the rental house I was living in at the time. My intuition told me to get the hell out of there, so I pitched a tent in the back yard and low and behold, I started feeling better! I slept outside until the weather got too cold, at which point I was forced to come to grips with reality. I had to pack up and move. Ug...
Create a healthy indoor environment and so you can regain your health and vitality.
In addition to mold, it is important to be aware of and minimize exposure to other environmental triggers. CIRS can make the body extremely sensitive to other factors including chemical odors and electromagnetic fields. Part of the process of creating a safe and healthy home includes minimizing exposure to common VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and EMFs (electromagnetic frequencies).
VOCs and EMFs affect the health of EVERY BODY. However, not everyone is as sensitive to the symptoms of these environmental toxins as those with CIRS. We are the canaries in the coal mine presenting the effects of what industry has neglected to study.

"Putting in tens of millions of 5G antennae without a single biological test of safety has got to be the stupidest idea anyone has had in the history of the world."
Martin L. Pall, Ph.D. & Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry and Basic Medical Sciences, Washington State University
Dr. Pall is a medical researcher who helped pave the way toward understanding of the biological effects of microwave radiation. You can find out more about the health effects of EMFs in my blog.
I recommend exploring the Building Biology Institute's website to find an EMF Reduction specialist who can help you create a low EMF exposure home.
