Wilson and I have been juicing most every day. Celery, carrots, cabbage, apples, beets, oranges, ginger, and lemons flood our refrigerator and fruit basket and get blended into amazing, vitalizing, almost magical morning elixirs. Because they are raw and 100% pure, they are chucked full of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and antioxidants that support energy production. They also boost immunity and promote detoxification. We have a juicer, which makes the juicing process easy breezy beautiful, but you can also use a high-powered blender or Vita-Mix and a strainer bag. Just chop your veggies small, add water, set the blender to liquefy and let'er fly! Then simply strain the fiber through the bag into a bowl, give the bag a squeeze, and pour your liquid energy into your favorite serving glass.
You don’t need much juice, about 8 oz. If you’re using a juicer, dilute with purified water (1:1). If you’re using a blender, you may not need to dilute if you’ve added enough water during the blending process. Juice has a lot of concentrated sugar so be sure to enjoy it with a balanced meal or snack containing protein, carbs and fat to keep blood sugar stable.
Try any organic vegetable you have on hand (I stress organic so to reduce pesticide exposure). I’m going to try organic dandelion greens this week. Let the adventure begin!
Happy juicing!
